Summly

Nick D’Aloisio realized that the length and complexity of important news stories often intimidate younger readers, and, at age 15, created the iPhone app Summly, which condensed articles into “pocket-sized news.” The app was an immediate success, building a user base of 500,000 in just four weeks. In March 2013, Summly was acquired by Yahoo, which removed Summly from the App Store and used its technology to develop Yahoo News Digest.
