Justin Timberlake “Man of the Woods”

The fifth Justin Timberlake album, “Man of the Woods” was released in early February. Because his previous album, “The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2” was released five years ago, my expectations for the new album were high, adding insult to injury when I realized how disappointing this release is.   The first and most popular song of the album, according to Spotify, is “Filthy,”  a strange combination of different instrumentals that have two effects on the song overall. For one, the background sounds hectic, as though it was not produced by a professional artist. For anoth...

1 in 2,447: Hannah Uzi

At the age of six, Hannah Uzi (12) and her two sisters, who were living in Moscow at the time, regularly took singing lessons. Unlike her sisters, who did not necessarily enjoy singing, Hannah realized that she never felt more comfortable than with a microphone in her hand. In the beginning, her performances started out as nothing more than her singing on the tallest kitchen chairs that she could find. Now, twelve years later, Uzi (12) has a much larger audience; she performs in front of hundreds of people and records her own music, in pursuit of a singing career. She began like anyone else, working tireless...

The Kebab Shop

I’ve experienced many different foods growing up, some of which remain my favorite dishes to this day. One such dish is the Eastern European version of the kebab, which I ate so often it became a regular part of my eating regimen. Granted, while The Kebab Shop serves the more common Mediterranean type, I was still particularly excited to review the self-proclaimed Mediterranean comfort food restaurant. Walking in, I noticed the meat slowly roasting behind the cashiers right off the bat, and then being visibly cut off the skewers by employees. This was a nice touch, as it showed the meat was fresh and being cooked ...

Beautiful Trauma

After a solid five years of only three single releases, P!nk has jumped back into the music world with her album “Beautiful Trauma,” and consequently reminded everyone of her immense talent and beautiful vocals. This album is full of her experiences with love and life struggles, like much of her previous work. The title track and introduction to the album, “Beautiful Trauma,” starts off on an especially upbeat and positive note. While the song starts off slow, it quickly picks up to a louder instrumental, giving you a rush of energy for the rest of the album. The track also seems to fade out for a ...

Saturday Night Fever heats up at TPHS Homecoming dance

ASB hosted the Saturday Night Fever Homecoming dance on Oct. 14 at TPHS from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., which featured an assortment of activities ranging from ping pong to arcade machines. This year’s Homecoming theme echoed the ‘70s,  with a rousing disco atmosphere. Attendees were encouraged to dress in attire that matched the decade. Many guests arrived in bell-bottom jeans, sequined shirts and some wore large Afro wigs.  “Planning started about two weeks before school started,” Commissioner of Activities and planner of Homecoming, Lauren Grove (11), said. “I was watching ...
